I have decided that my affinity for candles is really costly so I am thinking of making my own. Now what? Any basic suggestions? I have already requested a book from the library. I just want basic tips about candle making. Like scents and the best wax or maybe just problems you may have encountered? Thanks!

Hello - I have been in the candlemaking business for a number of years, and due to my new living situation, I am not able to do this (fire code, etc.) So, I am curious to know what other crafters are doing these days?

I like to paint - decorative and fine art - but I’m only starting out…so my level of expertise is fair to good.

I also sew - any ideas as to what is selling?

I’m a whiz at making Embedded candles, by the way. And used to sell them to businesses during the holidays.

Anyway, would love to hear from other crafters. I don’t know if I’m in a creative slump, or just not sure which way to go - any advice would help. I would even be willing to work with other crafters who are in need of some assistance in the Spring, Texas area.

I’m having a party and it needs candles. However, I was wondering if it’s possible to make your own cheaper candles without having to buy expensive store bought candles that you’re only going to use once. Suggestions? Opinions? Sites to look at? Thanks for your help!

Hi, I am redoing my room to be a harry potter theme and I am tring to switch my lighting. I was hoping to go for a floating candle type thing and hanging them from the ceiling with wire and they are supposed to be non flamable by battery power. The thing is I dont know how to turn them on/off without going to each one and turning it off/on manually. If anyone knows how to hook them up to the light switch that would be great. Thanks. Bye.
P.S. if it wouldnt work out then how could I wire some up together so that I could have a plug-in to plug it in to a wall? Or do they make Christmas decoration candles that would have a long cord to have hanging from the wall so it wouldnt be visable?

Not from scratch but would I get the same effect if I like…put a smaller pot in a larger pot of boiling water? I only want it for making candles….so please understand why I don’t want to buy a new one
